ASP / NETRC Championship 2017 – Jim Clark Rally Cancellation
The organisers of the Jim Clark Rally, the Jim Clark Memorial Motor Club, issued a statement yesterday about this year’s event. In brief they are saying that a decision by insurers has forced the cancellation of this year’s rally. They also air concerns that the future of the event is now in serious jeopardy. A full version of this statement can be found at http://www.jimclarkrally.org/
The event was scheduled to take place on Saturday 27th May 2017 and be the sixth qualifying round of our championship.
Article 5 of our championship regulations states “The Championship will consist of ten rounds and competitor’s best scores on sevenrounds will count. If through force majeure an event is cancelled or a date is changed, the Championship reserves the right to accept any change of date and/or adjust the number of counting rounds.”
Therefore it has been decided to amend the scoring this year so that a competitor’s best scores on SIX rounds will count from the NINE rallies run.
