Congratulations to Barry and Callum. Barry Lindsay and Callum Atkinson are two of our regular championship contenders in the AS Performance NETRC and they have been selected from a huge number of people to go forward to a final shortlist of six in the Search For A Rally Star competition.

Castrol EDGE in association with Motorsport News supports this national competition for those living in the United Kingdom and Ireland and the finalists will now face a series of assessments to find a winner. This will take place on August 18 at Rallyday run at the Castle Combe Circuit. The victor will then get some driver training before taking part in a national rally in a works-livered Ford Fiesta R2 with full support from Castrol EDGE and M Sport.

Barry comes from a little village just outside Carlisle and is our current champion driver, a feat that he has also managed in four previous years. He is regularly competing in his self prepared Peugeot 106 with his Dad sitting alongside him and the pair have often embarrassed much quicker machinery with their turn of speed.

Callum lives in Lauder in the Scottish Border country and is just 21 but still a youngster when it comes to competing. However, he already has quite a lot of experience from co driving Gareth White in his Citroen C2R2 and also his father, Nigel Atkinson, in a Peugeot 205. He’s recently swapped seats too and can be seen on gravel rallies holding the wheel of his Peugeot 205.

We wish them both the best of luck when they go head to head with the other four lucky folk and may the best man win !
